How we test
Nothing leaves without running under load.
Used equipment is only worth what it does when it's running. So we run it under real load, and hand you the proof.
- 01
Intake & inspection
Full mechanical and electrical inspection on arrival. Compressors, contactors, sensors, controls.
- 02
Leak check
Refrigerant circuit leak-checked and verified before any load test.
- 03
Run under load
Operational and functionality test under load. The unit has to actually pull setpoint, not just power on.
- 04
Documented
Test run recorded. Results posted to the unit's listing so you can review before you commit.
- 05
Released
Only after it passes is the unit released for sale or lease, and staged for transport.
Watch it run
Every unit, tested under load, on camera.
These aren't promo clips. They're the actual load tests. Scroll the latest runs.
FAQ
How we source & recondition
Who do you buy your chillers from?
We source used and surplus air-cooled chillers from decommissioned facilities, plant and equipment upgrades, contractors, and equipment brokers across the country. Every unit is vetted before we buy it, so only equipment worth reconditioning makes it into our inventory.
What do you check before you buy a unit?
Before we purchase a chiller we review its age, run hours, refrigerant, service history, and overall condition, and confirm the major components (compressors, coils, and controls) are sound and worth reconditioning. Units that don't meet our standards never make it to the yard.
What happens after you buy a unit?
After we acquire a chiller we recondition it: clean it, replace worn parts, and leak-check the refrigerant circuits. Then we complete a full inspection and run it under load to confirm operation and function of all components, and we provide a video of the test run and an inspection report before it's listed.
Testing & guarantee
What does “tested under load” mean?
Before release we run the chiller the way it would run on a real job: energized and pulling an actual cooling load, not just powered on. We verify it reaches and holds setpoint and check the compressors, fans, and controls, recording the results. It's the difference between “it turns on” and “it performs.”
Do I get the test results and inspection report?
Yes. We complete a full inspection and a test run under load, and provide a video of the test run along with an inspection report. The results are documented and available to view, so you buy on evidence, not a promise.
Do the chillers come with a guarantee or warranty?
Equipment is sold as-is, and no equipment warranty is offered at this price. A start-up guarantee is included: all components and parts are guaranteed to be in working order. If a part is faulty at the onsite start-up, we furnish a replacement at no cost, including freight within the USA. Start-up must be performed by a qualified chiller technician within two weeks of shipment. The guarantee excludes failures from neglect or improper startup, operation, use, or application, and install labor is not included.
Do I need a certified technician to install it?
Yes. Start-up must be performed by a qualified chiller technician within two weeks of shipment for the start-up guarantee to apply. Proper startup protects the compressors and controls. Install labor isn't included, but ask us if you need a technician referral.
